When conducting preventative maintenance on military M-16's and civilian AR-15's or any other weapon system for that matter - Gibbs® is the best weapons' lubricant and corrosion preventative substance available anywhere because of its tendency not to induce malfunctions because of over-lubrication and its ability to lubricate critical parts effectively.
We use Gibbs® for aluminum cylinder heads, counter boring, and putting valve seats in. Gibbs® keeps the sides of the cutter right and does not tear the aluminum and keeps a smooth finish. We also found out that Gibbs® prolongs tool life. Gibbs® also removes rusty bolts and keeps stored engine heads from rusting.

The Gibbs® Brand Lubricants are available in two sizes for consumer use. The 12 oz. aerosol is perfect for home and garage use, and the 2 oz. handy pocket size is suitable for small jobs and areas where fine application control of the product is needed.
The 12 oz can has a nozzle that produces a solid stream of penetrant when fully depressed. If only a little of the product is required, by slightly depressing the valve, a fine foam is produced which can be placed exactly where needed.
